Unconfirmed reports reaching us through online radio are suggesting that military personnel in par-military uniforms acting on orders by Yaya Jammeh to shoot at protesters.

An unidentified person who claimed to be in the Kanifing area is saying that soldiers are actually "shooting at protesters."  Several protesters have been beaten up and numerous others have been arrested and taken to the paramilitary headquarters at Kanifing.

The unidentified person who first reported the shooting on Gainako online radio is also reporting that a significant number of military personnel are laying an ambush around Pipeline presumably waiting for any protester or supporter of the opposition leader who are currently at Mr. Darboe's house.  The same person is cautioning those around the area to take extra care in going through the area.

Meanwhile, Jammeh is reportedly in his home village of Kanilai directing operations from there.  His Interior Minister, Ousman Sonko, is the man of the moment commanding the troops to shoot and kill defenseless protesters.

More reports coming in on Gainako saying some protesters who ran and entered the Serrekunda primary schools have been beaten up by military personnel and their t-shirts torn or seized with the image of Ousainou Darboe, the UDP opposition leader.
